Dr. Cathy Lu is an assistant professor at the University of Calgary. She has completed a joint advanced IBD fellowship with specialization in intestinal ultrasound at the University of Calgary and the University of Alberta. She is an executive committee board member of the STAR (Stenosis, Therapy, and Anti-Fibrotic Research) Consortium and leads the development of the ultrasound index for Crohn’s disease strictures. Dr. Lu has also served as a member of the scientific committee for IBUS, the International Bowel Ultrasound Organization, and currently co-chairs the scientific committee for iUSCAN, the IUS organization of Canada and the United States. Her primary research interests are in fibrostenotic Crohn’s disease, intestinal ultrasound, and biomarkers in diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment response in IBD.
