Dr. Cynthia Seow is Professor at the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary working as a Clinician Researcher in Gastroenterology. Her interests include special populations, (pediatric to adult transition, sexual health, preconception and pregnancy health), pharmacokinetics of biologic therapies and preventive care in Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
Dr. Seow led the ‘Medications in Pregnancy’ section for the Global IBD in Pregnancy Consensus Guidelines and (publication 2024), was an invited expert to the Australian IBD pregnancy consensus statements (Gut 2023), and co-led the Toronto Consensus Statements for the Management of IBD in Pregnancy (Gastroenterology 2016). She maintains active research funding and has >100 peer reviewed publications.
She is an Associate Editor for Alimentary Pharmacology and Therapeutics, is on the editorial board of the Journal of the Canadian Association of Gastroenterology, and Canada IBD Today. Dr. Seow is involved in initiatives by Crohn’s and Colitis Canada and the Canadian Digestive Health Foundation with the goal of increasing patient education.
